As discussed previously , information and education is included in the eclectic approach adopted by the Commission to address " risks of injury associated with all - terrain vehicles . It is not the principal approach , but one among a number of options which we are pursuing to respond expeditiously to this rapidly escalating consumer safety

Sunec
problem .
CONCLUSION
In sum , the effect of the Commission ' s implementation of its ATV program is to highlight to the consumer and to the industry the
SUIT
seriousness of the all terrain vehicle situation and the Commission ' s determination to take action to address any identified unreasonable
risk of injury . Given the magnitude of the problem , a wide - ranging ,
comprehensive program is essential . In my opinion , based upon the
information currently available , the Commission ' s deliberate approach
provides it with the flexibility which is vital to its responsibility
in this matter .
I will be happy to provide any additional information you might require concerning my remarks .
Thank you .
