SPEEDOMETER : Honda is opposed to the inclusion of a

speedometer on the ATV as original and standard equipment . We

believe that in recreational riding , in off - road terrain , a speedometer would detract from the safety of ATV riders . The terrain and skill level of the particular rider should govern the .

speed , rather than a speedometer .

Honda believes that with the

changing terrain conditions , a rider would feel a sense of

security at a certain speed and would not pay attention to the conditions he is encountering . An ATC rider should read the terrain ahead of him , rather than having his attention distracted

by referring to a speedometer on the handlebar .

Please note that Honda does have a speedometer

available as optional equipment .

It can be used to assist

farmers and agricultural workers in maintaining a constant speed

during spraying or seeding activities , and for other special

usage , such as law enforcement patrol , for example .

This

speedometer is not intended for recreational use , but for very limited utility uses when it is necessary to maintain a constant speed over flat terrain .

SPEED LIMITERS : Honda believes that a throttle limiter is a necessary item on ATCs ridden by young riders . It can give the parent or adult supervisor the ability to control the speed

of the ATV vehicle down to a near walk , if necessary , to

correspond with the skill level of the young person riding it .

However , to apply throttle or speed limiters on all ATVS would ,

in our opinion , increase the likelihood of accidents . Speed
