Yamaha , as a member of the Speciality Vehicle Institute of America ( SVIA ) , contributes to and supports rider educa tion . We are also working with the CPSC to develop meaning
ful and appropriate voluntary standards .
A number of the
areas raised in your May 3 , 1985 letter such as lighting , age labeling , etc . , are being discussed as possible voluntary
standards .
In conclusion , Yamaha intends to continue to work aggress ively with the CPSC to reduce ATV accidents as appropriate . We believe public awareness as to the danger of product
