Mr . CRAIG . So we are really dealing with an - if my observation correct I don ' t want to lead you - we are dealing with an entirely different market from a 125M in price category and , what did you say , a $ 4 , 000 vehicle in the Odyssey ?

Mr . GLYNN . No , $ 3 , 000 . I think it is around $ 3 , 000 , $ 2 , 900 - some thing I believe . Now , the Odyssey is one form of a four - wheeler . We also have a TRX which is about the same price as the 250R .

Mr . CRAIG . So if you were moving out of a market because of problems , you wouldn ' t be moving from a $ 1 , 500 market to a $ 3 , 000 market , would you ?

Mr . GLYNN . It is really unrelated . It is just different markets . They appeal to different people . They are applied to a slightly dif ferent application . Mr . CRAIG . Well , they appeal to a different pocketbook .

Mr . GLYNN . Well , to some degree , that is right . Yes , they are more expensive generally

Mr . CRAIG . Thank you . Thank you , Mr . Chairman . Mr . BARNARD . I have just got a few more questions .

What are you doing , each of you doing to ensure , to require that the users of your products will have the necessary training other than just the warnings ?

Mr . GLYNN . Well , ĩ think that goes back quite a ways . Originally , as it says in the handout - when they did the testing it was judged with the original design and working with people - that following the owner ' s manual someone could learn to ride the ATV by them selves . Just following the owner ' s manual . And if they are younger , they should be guided by their parents for sure . But with the in creased accidents and we realized that people were misusing the product to a de egree they shouldn ' t be , we began quickly to , well , I think in 1982 we published 300 , 000 copies of a booklet called Three - Wheeling for the Fun of ſt . " The title of that is it is a safety booklet , but the purpose of the title is to create an interest in reading safety materials .

We have just currently republished that booklet . About 6 months ago we published 500 , 000 copies and they are gone and we are be ginning to reprint on that . In 1983 , we started the SVIA for the purpose of developing training classes - early 1983 . We produced a safety film that we distributed and we have it in all of our dealer ships , so that the people that are buying an ATV can watch the safety film there , plus we distributed that through Modern Talking Pictures ; and we reached I think 800 , 000 people with that film .

To bring attention to the need for safety equipment , last year we produced a safety film with Lyle Alzado . You may have seen that . The purpose of that is to emphasize a safe , you know , you wearing safety equipment .

Mr . BARNARD . Is this film available to all dealers ?

Mr . GLYNN . The film on how to ride , the safety film , is in all dealerships , yes . We furnished it free to the dealership .

Mr . BARNARD . Every dealership ? Mr . GLYNN . They have it . We sent it to each dealership free to encourage them to use it and have it there .

Mr . BARNARD . You don ' t know that they are using it ? Mr . GLYNN . Many of them do . I can ' t say every dealer does . It is available to every dealership , though .
