Dear All,

Last year, after giving a nice clean for the first time ever to my Zoomer,i started having problem starting up the engine, even with the kickstart.I have brought it to my mechanic here in Holland, but hasn't really solved the problem,as once i was back in Amsterdam the engine wouldn't start. He has changed the spark and some other little thing...but it never started as before...Before it was like a swiss clock, starting in every condition,snow,rain,wind...whatever...Now,usually with the warm but it might be a coincidence, doesn't start....I can hear the sound when i turn the key...But than nothing when i electric start it or kick start it.Any help? I know it could be the fuel pump..But my mechanic said it was non needed.

Regards,
Emiliano

Do you mean a nice HIGH PRESSURE clean....

There is a lot of electrics on a Zoomer, fuse box, elec starter, ignition etc. Sounds like water in the wrong place

The sound you hear when you turn the key is the fuel pump, is normal, should be ok.

Who is your mechanic, Ad?

edit:

Here a Dutch link (google translate) with similar problem (riding in the rain than bad start) and more ideas (to much to translate)

http://www.hondazoomer.nl/board/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=241

Summary, bad ignition coil or bad battery can be the problem, also water in exhaust or air filter

edit2: faulty temperture sensor

They got a lot of topics about this issue on hondazoomer.nl, maybe it is best to try there. This forum is (more) carb minded  :yarr:

Good luck!

if the problem isn't solved yet, you can try bringing it to Funmotors. The owner is specialized in zoomers!
